July 4th Parade, Supper, and Food Drive
It’s parade time again. Come march with your neighbors to celebrate the 4th of July. In the morning, set out food to be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
Parade Director Jim Gaudin urges all adults, kids, parents and children to meet at 5:30pm on July 4 on the corner of Brookwood and Clyde roads. The parade will begin at 6 p.m., proceeding down Clyde Road to Tara Place, and then to Brookwood and the Green Acres-Crestwood Pool.
Jim urges parents to bring kids, wagons, bikes and skateboards. Prizes will be awarded for the most patriotically decorated bikes, scooters and baby carriages. Kathryn Lookofsky is co-director of the parade.
At the pool, kids will dive for pennies, hug the greased watermelon and throw water balloons. The East Athens Sea Turtles Swim Team will again sell hamburgers and hotdogs to fund the team.
